Viognier is a variety originally from Norther Rhone. Viognier almost dissapeared from the wine world, as only sweet wines were made or it was used for blending. Eventually the dry white aromatic wines became appreciated by the London consumer of the 60's; this saved the variety from virtual extinction.
5% of the wine was oak fermented in new barrels. Then it was aged in American oak barrels for 6 months, this creates a rich, oatmeal, and peachy apricot flavoured wine.
