100% Tannat from our best tannat terroirs in Juanicó, Garzón and Mahoma, all coastal regions where the Atlantic Ocean gives more impact to the wine. Mahoma has vertical schists, Garzón has granite and Juanicó has clay and limestone.
The significant color concentration in the skin of coastal Tannats requires only a short maceration: intense for the first 2 days and very gentle the following 5 days. The skins are mainly responsible for providing the tannins and anthocyanins. This technique allows for a very early harvest, when the fresh fruit aromas are at their highest. As Tannat has such a high anthocyanin concentration, the color of the wine is still very intense with this technique.
TASTING NOTES Intense sensation of ripe red fruit and some blackberry, plum & blueberry, with persistent aromas of roses and violets and a hint of fresh herbs and undergrowth. This wine is ample on the palate and lingers by virtue of its elegant freshness.
