From Jancis Robinson's website:
Wine reviewed by Master of Wine Julia Harding:
'First harvest of the Nero d'Avola was four years ago but this is the first varietal wine. Six months in 2nd use oak.
Medium bright purple crimson. Super-spicy tangy red fruit and lifted dark-red fruit. Peppery nose. Juicy and tight and fine boned. Tannins are super fine. Really quite a delicate wine. Tangy and vibrant. Juicy and peppery on the finish. More elegant and fresh than many Sicilian Nero d’Avola. Lots of integrity here. Juicy finish. I expect it will age longer than this but why wait when it is delicious now? (JH)'
Just under 1000 bottles made, and we must agree with Julia, this is rather delicious!
