Uruguay

  • Bodega Pablo Fallabrino

    This small winery is located where the River Plate, the widest river in the world, meets the Atlantic Ocean.

    This region provides clean cool ocean breezes and an ideal climate for the maturation of wine grapes.

    With just 12 hectares under vine, they practice sustainable agriculture with no insecticides and only a very low grade fungicide to control downy mildew.

    The winemaker, Pablo Fallabrino, a laid back good natured surfer, is the perfect catalyst to create a world class winery. His approach is not to over think the winemaking process; instead, he runs with his instincts, takes chances and makes extraordinary wines with his own personal signature.

    Marichal Wines

    Born from the passion of immigrant families from the Canary Islands and Italy, the winery has been crafting exceptional wines for nearly a century.


    Located in the heart of Uruguay’s premier wine region—Etchevarría, Canelones— the vineyards thrive in rich loam-clay soils with natural calcareous deposits, creating the perfect terroir for wines of depth and character.

    Bodegones del Sur

    One of the most prestigious and trailblazing producers in Uruguay today, combining both a long history and a groundbreaking approach to modern Uruguayan wine.

    The cultivation system respects the environment by using the principles of organic farming, avoiding the use of chemicals, to achieve a natural balance in the ecosystem and thereby reduce human intervention.

Brazil

    Pizzato

    The Pizzato family winery began in Brazil in 1879, part of an Italian emigration wave shaping modern Brazilian winemaking. Initially producing wine from Bonarda grapes brought from Italy, the wine was even prescribed for typhoid by a local doctor.

    In the 1960s, the winery moved to Vale dos Vinhedos, making wine mostly for resale or family use. The modern company, still family-owned, was established in 1998 with the first vintage in 1999, leading to the creation of the flagship Merlot, ‘DNA 99’. Now, fifth-generation winemaker Flávio Pizzato, awarded Brazil’s ‘Winemaker of the Year’ in 2020, produces renowned reds, and whites like Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

    Familia Geisse

    Nestled in the Serra Gaucha wine region of southern Brazil, Familia Geisse is one of the oldest and most prestigious sparkling wine producers, in a country that has become the largest sparkling wine producer in Latin America.

    Chilean oenologist Mario Geisse moved to Brazil in 1976 to work for Chandon Brazil; he then founded his own winery in Pinto Bandeira in 1979. This historical region became in late 2022 the first DO in the New World exclusively for sparkling wines.

    The 70 hectares estate has 36 hectares of vineyards and is situated at 800 masl.

    All of the wines are made following the Traditional Method.

Argentina

    Finca Buenaventura

    Nearly 20 years ago, Ana Delmar and Fernando del Castillo, two entrepreneurs from La Plata, Buenos Aires, transformed 100 hectares of uncultivated land at the foothills of the Andes into a thriving vineyard. 

    They fell in love with a beautiful plot in Los Arboles, the coolest corner of Tunuyán, which borders Tupungato.

    Finca Buenaventura’s innovative approach to micro terroir wines, combined with the rich and diverse terroir of their estate, has allowed them to create wines that transcend expectations and captivate the senses.

    Sustainability is at the heart of Finca Buenaventura, and the winery is certified since the end of 2024. Proudly certified as an Uco Valley winery, it ensures traceability and estate-produced and bottled wines.

    Agustín Lanús

    Agustín Lanús produces minimal intervention wines from biodiverse terroirs ranging from 1600 m.a.s.l. to 2,900 m.a.s.l., among the highest vineyards in the world.

    Viticulturist and oenologist, Agustín Lanús worked at leading wineries around the world - before following his passion for the exploration of extreme altitude terroirs to the remote Calchaqui Valley of his native Argentina.

    Working at the limit of where wine grapes can be grown is incredibly challenging but results in  grapes with thick, resilient skins rich in tannins and polyphenols, the ideal starting point for a passionate winemaker dedicated to creating wines with the unique qualities found in every bottle.

    Mundo Revés

    Mundo Revés is the shared dream of Thibault and Quentin, two French winemakers who arrived in Argentina more than a decade ago, drawn by the extraordinary potential of its terroirs. Inspired by the vast landscapes and the freedom to explore new possibilities, they set out to create wines that reflect both their European roots and their deep connection to Argentina—Rêves meaning “dreams” in French.

    After years of working in renowned wineries and travelling extensively through the vineyards of Mendoza, their path naturally led them to the Uco Valley. There, they identified remarkable sites such as Altamira, El Cepillo, Los Chacayes, and Gualtallary, where they craft distinctive wines from varieties including Bonarda, Semillón, Sauvignon Blanc, Criolla, and, of course, Malbec.

    At the heart of the project is Thibault Lepoutre, trained as an agronomist and oenologist in Bordeaux, Champagne, and Montpellier. He played a key role in advancing organic and biodynamic viticulture and contributed to the creation of the Los Chacayes Geographic Indication.

Chile

  • L'Entremetteuse.png
    L'Entremetteuse

    L’Entremetteuse is the innovative and playful range by French expat Laurence Réal who established herself in Chile’s Colchagua valley three decades ago.

    She includes some of the classic varieties from the region, like Syrah and Carmenère - both renowned in Colchagua - with her own interpretation, but also promotes the rediscovery of old vines in the region.

    These wines are exciting, fun and unconventional. All wines are unfiltered with little or no sulphites added.

    Masintín

    Vinos Masintín focuses on highlighting the unique terroirs of southern Chile, particularly of Maule and Itata Valleys. Maule is warm with Andes influences, while Itata has a cool Mediterranean climate due to the Pacific Ocean and Andes.

    Masintín partners with select farmers committed to sustainable, pesticide-free farming, emphasising quality over yield.

    Minimal intervention during vinification, using open fermentation vessels and ageing in concrete eggs, amphorae, French barrels, and stainless steel.


    This approach enhances the varietal aromas and terroir. The winery has been recognised with high scores in Tim Atkin’s “Chile Report,” including 96 points for the Cariñena, showcasing the inherent quality of southern Chile’s terroirs and the talent of winemaker Diego Urra.

    La Ronciere

    The Orueta family, winemakers in the Central Valley since 1949, relocated their vineyard to Licantén, a cooler coastal sub-region of Curicó Valley, due to rising temperatures.

    This area, since 2018 recognized as DO and located 25 km from the Pacific Ocean, was previously unknown for winemaking. The Orueta brothers have demonstrated its potential for producing age-worthy and refined cool-climate reds.

    Their 110 ha estate in Licantén dedicates a third of the land to wilderness to prevent monoculture issues. The vineyards span diverse soils, including gravels and Llicorella, similar to the soil in Priorat. The combination of heat-retaining soil and cool Pacific breezes results in wines with ripe fruit, tannins, savoury aromas, and balanced acidity.
