LA RONCIERE Quiron Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

The Quiron Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 from La Ronciere in Chile's Curicó Valley is a compact, dense wine with great structure and concentration. The vineyard sits on the banks of the Mataquito river, some 25 kilometres from the sea, amid the steep slopes of the ancient coastal range. Sustainable practices and unique metamorphic soils add to the wine's distinctive character. Awarded 94 points by Tim Atkin MW.

Tasting notes

Compact and dense with flavours of graphite, mint and blueberry, and a firm tannic structure.

Vinification

Destemmed clusters, not crushed to prevent astringency. Fermentation in micro-tanks at 26–28°C for 7 days, followed by maceration. 100% aged in 225L French oak barrels (medium toast) for 10 months. 100% malolactic fermentation.
