L'ENTREMETTEUSE Four Skins 2021
French expat Laurence Réal settled in Chile's Colchagua Valley three decades ago, creating a distinctive range of low-intervention wines. Four Skins is a skin-contact blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier with a touch of Sémillon — immediately attractive with aromas of rustic apple, dried orange peel, ripe stone fruit and charming herbal notes. Awarded 91 points by Decanter and 17 points by Jancis Robinson.
Grapes
27% Marsanne, 33% Roussanne, 35% Viognier, 5% Sémillon
Tasting notes
Autumnal orchard fruit, ripe orange and a creamy mid-palate with vibrant acidity, finishing tart and crisp with a bite of red apple.
Vinification
Hand-harvested in small containers and transported to Puquillay winery where grapes are destemmed and placed in Flextank eggs without sulphites. Marsanne/Roussanne/Viognier co-ferment together; Sémillon separately. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration last 1.5 months in refrigerated containers with pump-overs and indigenous yeasts. Wines are then stored in old barrels for 6 months before bottling without filtration or sulphites.
