L'ENTREMETTEUSE L'Epine de la Rose País Carmenere 2022

Minimal intervention wine, unfined and unfiltered, from French winemaker Laurence Réal. The vineyard is 100 years old with no irrigation, on granitic sand with an ocher clay subsoil 1.5-2 metres deep.

50% Carmenere, 50% País

Tasting notes

Slightly cloudy and sometimes with a natural effervescence. Firm tannic structure with a beautiful aroma of very dense red fruits, blackberries and black cherries.

Vinification

Hand-harvested in small boxes and transported to the Puquillay winery with manual cluster selection. Cold maceration of both varieties without sulphite addition, protected by dry ice for at least 5 days. Vinification in isolated containers (50% whole bunches, 50% destemmed) at avg 25°C with very gentle pigeage. Maceration lasted 7 days with 100% MLF on lees. Aged in egg flextank for 3 months. No filtration or added sulphur before bottling.
