MASINTÍN Cinsault 2021
71% of this Cinsault comes from two vineyards in Los Castaños, planted in 2002 and 1930, located 23 km from the Pacific Ocean. These vines thrive on a granitic hillside of the coastal mountain range, with a northwest-facing exposure. The remaining 29% comes from a south-facing vineyard in Bularco, planted in 1960, also rooted in granitic soil. Both plots are dry-farmed, ungrafted and pruned using the traditional gobelet vine training system.

Tasting notes
Fleshy, stony, intense and focused, with the freshness of Guarilihue Alto, flavours of grapefruit, pomegranate and orange peel, and a gentle whisper of oak.
Vinification
Grapes were hand harvested and destemmed. Whole berries were added to the fermentation vats and gently extracted their complex components using punch downs and pump-overs. Total maceration time was 24 days. After maceration, 80% of the wine went to concrete tanks, 12% to a clay amphora, and 8% was aged in used French oak barrels for 11 months prior to bottling.
