MASINTÍN Tinto de Itata 2022

Tinto de Itata by Masintin is a tribute to Itata's traditional grape varieties, País and Cinsault, showcasing the region's rich viticultural history. Some of these gobelet trained parcels were planted on their own rootstocks back in the XIX century and up until today they are still managed with the same respect by the heirs of Itata's first viticulturists.

Tasting notes

Full-bodied with balanced tannins and acidity, showcasing cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries with floral hints.

Vinification

Grapes were hand harvested and destemmed. Whole berries were added to the fermentation vats and gently extracted its complex components, using punch downs and pump-overs. Maceration lasted for 25 days. After maceration 14% of the wine was transferred to a new 500 L French oak barrel and the remaining 86% to a stainless steel tank during 11 months prior bottling.
